Cask Ale Night Changes
Aug 15, 2006

Due to popular demand, Summits is changing its Cask Ale night schedule. Instead of once a month on the 14th, firkins will be served every Friday night beginning August 25th!

Randall Monday's
Aug 7, 2006

Randall, who? Thanks to Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, Delaware we will introduce "Randall" into all three Summits locations!

A "Randall" is a three-foot long, cylinder/filter packed with a half a pound of whole-leaf hops that is affixed to a beer line leading out of a keg. As the beer is poured, it flows through the Randall, thus
filtering the beer through fresh hops before serving; in essence, "dry hopping" the beer to enhance and change the flavor.

Beginning Monday, August 7th all three Summits Taverns will make Mondays "Randall Mondays". We will "Randall-ize" a different beer each week. Our thanks go out to Dogfish Head for sharing the Randalls with us and for the inspiration!

Cask Ales Come to Summits
July 14, 2006

Summits is excited to announce our new Cask Ale nights! Cask Ale nights will be the 14th of every month at all three locations.

Cask ales are naturally carbonated beers stored in a "firkin". The beer is served via the time-honored gravity feed method, which produces a very soft and drinkable carbonation.

For our first Cask Ale - being served on Friday, July 14 - we are serving Clipper City Brewing's "Loose Cannon Hop3" IPA. English-style ales are at their best when served via firkin and we expect this beer to be an outstanding example!

For more information on cask ales, please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cask_ale

For more information on "Loose Cannon Hop3" ale please see http://www.clippercitybeer.com/home/beers_heavyseas.htm.

Tapping of the firkin will be at 6:00pm and there is only one firkin per location. See you there!

Not to mention the decadent Chateau du Summit burger topped with a rich red wine-bleu cheese sauce!

Looking for something besides ground beef? No problem.... our Burger Month menu features not only 100% ground sirloin, but chicken patties, ostrich burgers, bison burgers, and even the meatless Boca "burger" patties can be substituted for our vegetarian patrons!

Georgians for World Class Beer

Currently, Georgia law prohibits sale of beers with an alcohol content above 6 percent - unlike wine and liquor, which have no such restriction.

Georgians for World Class Beer is a consumer group, started by beer lovers like you, who are mounting a grassroots effort to get the law changed to allow Georgians access to the full range of beers available in the US and the rest of the world.

Check out their website and see how you can help the cause.
