And of course, you can try them at Taco Mac! This week we shine on Boon Geuze. Try one at your favorite Taco Mac today! Region of Origin: Province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium Style: Gueuze-lambic Alcohol Content: 4.8 abw (6.0 abv) The shorter spelling of G(u)euze is preferred by Frank Boon. Being a gueuze, this beer is a blend of young and old lambics that ferments in the bottle, causing carbonation and sparkle. It has great finesse: a soft floweriness of aroma (rhubarb?); a momentary gingery sweetness; and a long dry, oaky, faintly salty finish. A wonderful beer to serve with blood sausage (black pudding) and applesauce. Some Sam Adams beers come from a Miller facility in Washington state. Many Pabst beers are brewed by Miller. The brewer behind a brand often watches closely and may send its own brewmaster to the brewery. Consumer Reports, August 2001, Which Brew for You?
