Cooking With Beer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Badlands Pork Tenderloin Rattlesnake Creek Brewery & Grill, Dickinson, ND 1 1/5 cups soy sauce 3/4 cup canola oil 2 tbs honey 1/5 cup American brown ale 1 tbs minced garlic 1/5 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp dried orange peel 2 lbs pork tenderloin * Combine all ingredients except pork in small saucepan, bring to a boil. Allow to cool. Reserve 1/4 cup marinade for serving over medallions. * Marinate tenderloins for 12-24 hours in a closed container in the fridge. * To cook, broil tenderloins in a 495 degree oven for 14 mins. Slice into 1/2 inch thick medallions. Arrange on plate, and pour the reserved marinade on top. The decision follows a review of production operations in Northern Ireland and Liverpool. The closing of the Dundalk, County Louth, packaging plant will force 140 workers out of a job, while the revamp of the Dundalk brewery will cause another 60 layoffs. (BEERWeekTM Week of July 24-31, 2000) * Heineken N.V. named Frank Van der Minne its new president and chief executive officer of Heineken USA effective Sept 1. Van der Minne is a 25 year Heineken employee and most recently served as director in Central and Eastern Europe. Van de Minne replaces Michael Foley who will go to work for Irish airline Aer Lingus as CEO. (BEERWeekTM Week of July 24-31, 2000) * The Charleston International Beer Festival - October 20, 2000 The Seventh Annual Charleston International Beer, Music and Food Festival will be held on October 20 in Charleston, South Carolina and features nearly 125 beers from around the world. Hours are from 8-11:30 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door... includes beer samples and music. The first 1200 guests also receive a collectors glass. Designated drivers are admitted free. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Francis R. Willis SPCA branch.
