Cooking With Beer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Beer Steamed Crabs

2 bottles of beer (porter or stout recommended)
1 cup vinegar
2 dozen crabs
1 cup Old Bay seafood seasoning
1/2 cup salt

*In a large seafood steamer, pour in beer and vinegar.  Preheat steamer for 5 minutes.  Layer the crabs in the steamer, covering each layer generously with the Old Bay and salt.  Continue this process until all the crabs and seasonings are used.  Steam for 20 minutes or until all the crabs on top are red.

*for a lighter flavor a lighter beer style may be used.  Some people like to use a wheat beer because it imparts a uniquely sour taste.
