Cakes should fit snugly into dish. *mix the barleywine, espresso, 1 tbs of sugar and the coffee liqueur in a 2 cup measure, stirring well until the sugar is dissolved. Drizzle about half of this blend over the ladyfingers. *in a 1 quart bowl, whip cream and remaining sugar until soft peaks form. Whip in mscarpone. Spread 2 tbs of blend on each ladyfinger. Top with 1-2 tsps of chocolate. Place tops on ladyfingers to make a "sandwich" drizzle with remaining barleywine mixture and garnish with remaining cream cheese blend and grated chocolate. The investigation will look at distribution and beer sales countrywide and is expected to take about three months. Group Modelo and Fomento Economico Mexicano are Mexico's two largest breweries. * England's Shepherd Neame Ltd. Continues to battle recent increases in beer duty by requesting permission to appeal to the House of Lords. Neame hopes that the Lords would refer its case to the European Court, and argues that the government of the UK breached European law with its recent excise duty increases on beer. Southern English brewers -Neame is in Kent- have been affected by a 20-year trend of consumers buying beer on the European Continent, and changing consumer tastes that have begun to lean to soft beverages and wine. * Paul Gatza, director of the American Homebrewers Association Announced that Idaho has legalized homebrewing. The law merely adds the same protection for the homebrewers that home winemakers already enjoyed.
