In 1856, Georg Schneider was granted the exclusive right to brew wheat beer in Germany by the Royal Court making his brewery the workd's oldest brewer of Bavarian weissbier. Pale, crystal and dark malts are employed for this double-fermented wheat beer. Aventinus has received the topmost commendations for its perfect balance of two complex flavor profiles . . . the fruity spicyness brought in by the top-fermenting yeast and the notes of chocolate created by the use of Crystal and Dark malts. The label bears a picture of Johannes Aventinus, the historian who first described Bavaria and its people.
